trinkets and a giveaway of goodies!

Origami Winged Hearts
In the handmade world, you get to meet some pretty cool people with very cool shops. I first met Dana through her blog; I was looking to send my products to bloggers. Turned out that she is a creative entrepreneur too! Dana runs trinkets, an origami, jewelry, and art shop. You’ll find a ton of unique items here.

The shop carries an assortment of origami items, great to buy as party favors. Their origami art includes shapes such as birds, turtles, flowers, winged hearts, butterflies, pinwheels, stars, sailboats and more. The origami comes in all colors, papers, and sizes. If you are looking for a specific color scheme for your party, be sure to contact Dana. “My origami stars are all customizable and I usually get to work with parties and events to coordinate with their theme. It's a fun collaborative process when I go back and forth with a customer and pick out colors, textures, etc.”

trinkets also has jewelry to satisfy a variety of interests. There are beautiful silver dangle earrings, cute resin stud earrings (like bunnies, cupcakes, and sushi), trendy charm necklaces, funky beaded and knotted bracelets. Dana makes “dainty jewelry to big dangles – not just one style.” Other fun accessories in the shop are key chains, bows, and colorful photo prints. In addition to the photography, trinkets carries beautiful abstract paintings. They are painted with acrylic, and some are mixed media pieces – there is even one with origami butterflies!

“Trying out new things really helps you understand your strengths and weaknesses, while developing the parts of your body and brain you don't use regularly.”

Dana started her shop at first as an alternative to school work while in college. “I decided to go with the name ‘trinkets’ because I believe that it's the little things that make you happy (on a physical and mental level).” She started out making greeting cards and soon progressed into a plethora of diverse paper crafts and jewelry. Dana explains, “The overall diversity in the shop can be very beneficial because it caters to a lot of different peoples' tastes and interests.”

One unique aspect to her artwork is Dana’s origami paper. “I love up-cycling so a lot of my origami stars are made out of vintage map papers, magazines, etc. I make origami out of scrapbook papers and even tea bags when I get the chance. Nothing goes to waste!” She loves trying new things, and is also working on an entire collection of Disney movie inspired stars.
